Manchester United will be looking for a strong end to 2022 as they travel to Wolves on New Year’s Eve in Premier League action.
United followed up their 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Burnley with an impressive 3-0 Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest on their return from the World Cup break.
Successive wins and clean sheets has boosted confidence within the United fanbase ahead of the second half of the campaign despite facing the tricky prospect of Julen Lopetegui’s Wolves.
The former Real Madrid head coach enjoyed a winning start to Premier League life with a late 2-1 Boxing Day victory at Everton, and he will hope for more of the same in his first home Premier League match in charge.

Wolves vs Manchester United lineups
Lopetegui is confident Daniel Podence and Jonny Castro Otto will shake off minor injuries in time to feature but Pedro Neto is still a few weeks away from a return.
Rayan Ait-Nouri came off the bench to score the winner at Goodison Park and should start alongside the returning Matheus Nunes. New signing Matheus Cunha could be involved.
Wolves XI (4-3-3): Sa (GK) — Semedo, Collins, Kilman, Ait-Nouri — Nunes, Neves, Hodge — Hwang, Jimenez, Podence
Scott McTominay and Victor Lindelof are both still struggling with a virus, meaning Harry Maguire could make a rare start, having appeared as a substitute against Forest following illness. Lisandro Martinez has only just come back from Argentina, but he will likely be in the squad.
Teenage star Alejandro Garnacho could also come in at Molineux to freshen up the attack for the visitors, who are still without Jadon Sancho.
Man United XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea (GK) — Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Maguire, Shaw — Casemiro, Eriksen — Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford — Martial
Wolves vs. Manchester United betting odds, prediction
United have blown away the cobwebs on their return to action after the World Cup and Erik ten Hag appears to have found a formula that works at Old Trafford.
However, the prospect of a trip to Wolves will not be straightforward for the Red Devils, as Lopetegui looks to move away from relegation concerns in 2023.
United have won just twice in six visits to Molineux in all competitions since 2019, and the hosts will fancy their chances of a positive result.
Prediction: A 1-1 draw
