Dallas Mavericks guard Spencer Dinwiddie opened his postgame press conference talking about NBA official Tony Brothers, instead of the Mavs win over the Toronto Raptors. Dinwiddie said Brothers called him a slur after giving the guard a technical foul.
According to Dinwiddie, a teammate told him that Brothers called the Mavs guard a “b*tch a** mother f***er”.
Dinwiddie went on to explain that he did have an incident with Brothers during the game, but at no point did he make anything personal towards the referee. Dinwiddie requested that the NBA rescind his technical foul, and the ensuing fine, based on Brothers’ insult towards him.
Media present asked to speak with Brothers following the game via a pool report. That request was denied, as pool reports are intended for rules clarifications only.
