Aleksej Pokusevski’s breakout season with the Thunder will be on hold for a stretch.

The Thunder announced Wednesday night that the third-year forward suffered a non-displaced tibial plateau fracture in his left leg Tuesday night in Oklahoma City’s 130-114 win against the San Antonio Spurs at Paycom Center. Pokusevski will re-evaluated in six to eight weeks, the team said.

Pokusevski, the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, is averaging a career-high 8.8 points with 5.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game this season in 31 games, with 25 starts.

Trying to grab a rebound two minutes into Tuesday’s win, Pokusevski fell hard on his left leg and did not return to the game.

Veteran big man Mike Muscala picked up the available minutes, scoring 19 points in 34 minutes. With second-year forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl also injured, Muscala could see more playing time for the Thunder.

OKC visits the Hornets on Thursday night in Charlotte, N.C., before returning home to face the 76ers on Saturday night.

Earlier Wednesday, the Thunder recalled rookie forward Jaylin Williams from the Blue. The former Arkansas Razorback posted a triple-double Tuesday against Sioux Falls with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists.
