On Tuesday night’s pregame Inside the NBA segment, Charles Barkley had strong thoughts on Kyrie Irving sharing a link to an anti-Semitic film. Barkley said the NBA should have suspended Irving.
“I think he should have been suspended,” Barkley said about Irving. “I think Adam (Silver) should have suspended him.”
Barkley went on to say that NBA commissioner Adam Silver being Jewish should have played in to suspending Irving. He also supported the NBA disciplining those who have made homophobic comments or insulted the Black community.
“First of all, Adam is Jewish — you can’t take my $40 million and insult my religion. You gonna insult me, you have the right, but I have the right to say, ‘You can’t take my $40 million and insult my religion.’ I think the NBA, they made a mistake,” Barkley said. “We’ve suspended people and fined people who have made homophobic slurs. And that was the right thing to do. If you insult the black community, you should be suspended or fined heavily.”
